Hotels In Brazil

If you are going to be traveling to Brazil there are a wide range of accommodations that you can choose from and also a wide range of prices you can pay.  If you do a little research ahead of time you will ensure that you get the best value for your money.  You can find large luxury hotels in the larger cities that will provide you with all of the amenities that you want.  They are secure and modern and often offer fantastic views from the rooms.  They are also expensive, but many people find them very well worth it.

If you would like to save a little bit of money but you would still like to have nice accommodations, you can look into getting a room in an apartment hotel.  The advantages to these types of hotels are that they are less money and they often have more room than a luxury hotel.  They might be a good option if you are bringing the family or traveling in a larger group.  What they lack are some of the services that you would find in a large hotel like valet services or things like a health spa or restaurant on the premises.  If you are with a large group or if you plan to stay for a long time, you might actually want to rent an apartment.  Often you can find an apartment that you can rent by the month or by the week, and you will save a lot of money and have the advantage of having things like a kitchen and living room.  This way you can save some of your money for cocktails on the beach or souvenirs.

In the smaller towns you can usually find a bed-and-breakfast type of setup.  This can be a good option, as in the smaller towns you will not have the same need for security, and this is usually the best way to get to know about the locals and their customs from the people that run the place.  You get the meals there in your location, and usually some free tour guide service if you are friendly with the proprietors.  In the outlying areas and sometimes in the city you can find what are called Pousadas, something closer to a bed-and-breakfast than a hotel.  They will give you a good balance of affordability and pleasant accommodation.  They usually charge by the room instead of by the person so depending on the size of your group you may be able to get an even better deal over the larger hotels.

It is wise to figure out if you are traveling during the high season.  In Brazil this means the time between Christmas and Carnival, and can also include other Roman Catholic holidays like Easter.  If you are traveling at times other than these, you should try to negotiate a better rate.  As the hotels are not often full at these times you can almost always get a price reduction.  Whenever you are traveling you should make sure to be safe and careful so try your best not to look like a tourist and choose accommodations that have accessibility to the places you want to visit and enough safety to give you peace of mind.  That way you will enjoy your trip even more.
