Places In Brazil

Brazil is a truly enormous and diverse land, and if you are planning a visit there you can choose from so many places to see and things to do.  From the well-developed cities to the areas in nature that are virtually untouched, Brazil has much to offer.

One of the most famous places in Brazil is Rio de Janeiro.  It is a vibrant city that is known for its clubs and music.  It is also well known for the beaches.  Places like Ipanema and Copacabana are known the world over as one of the best beach vacation destinations anywhere.  Carnival is celebrated in Rio de Janeiro and is an incredible spectacle to behold.  It also hosts New Year’s celebrations that see millions of people crowd the beaches.  The statue of Christ the Redeemer that is at the top of Corcovado Mountain is one of the most iconic images of Brazil.

Sao Paulo is the largest city in Brazil; in fact it is the largest city in the entire Southern Hemisphere.  It is the commercial capital of this great nation and also offers the most modern amenities, rich culture in the arts and world-class restaurants and hotels.  It hosts the Art Biennial that draws huge crowds as well as the Sao Paulo Fashion Week, one of the more influential fashion gatherings in the world.

Salvador is also on the East Coast of Brazil, like Sao Paulo but it has a much more relaxed feel.  It has been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO, and boasts architecture and cuisine that rival anywhere else in this part of the world.

Brasilia is the capital city of Brazil.  It is interesting because unlike some capitals of other countries, it was built to be the capital.  Its layout makes it easy to get around in the city, and the design of the area is well-planned.  The architecture here is also fascinating if not as old as some of the other cities.  Brasilia is located near the center of Brazil.

Not all of the places to see in Brazil are cities.  There are many more cities to see like Fortaleza or Curitaba but there are also natural wonders in Brazil that should not be left behind.  The Amazon Rain Forest is well-known because of its importance to the world and its ability to eliminate greenhouse gases.  Many people are concerned that the Rain Forest is in danger, but even as vast amounts of it are lost it is still enormous and has an unrivaled diversity of plant and animal life.

The Atlantic Forest in Brazil is not as well known as the Amazon Rainforest but is spectacular itself.  The Cerrado is the world’s largest savanna, and the Pantanal is the world’s largest wetland.  Nature lovers will marvel at the species of animals that they will see in places like this; it is more bio-diverse than any other place in the world.  Speaking of extremes, Brazil is home to the largest river in the world and it is a sight to see itself.

There are many places in Brazil worth seeing, and if you plan to go there you will not be disappointed.
