TAM South America Airpass is an airpass that has been designed for foreign nationals who would like to travel to Brazil from outside South America and at attractive rates.
In order to purchase the airpass the passenger has to purchase an international ticket for traveling from outside South America to destinations in Brazil. The passenger should request the airpass to be issued in conjunction with the international ticket. And last of all the trip should be made such that it is operated by JJ (TAM), JJ* (code-share flights with TAM Airlines / PZ) and or PZ (TAM Mercosur) flights.
TAM South America Airpass is able to offer from 1200 to 8200 miles which can be flown in economy class.
The Fares:
TAM South America Airpass fares are calculated basically on the mileage flown on all legs, which covers a minimum of two countries and a maximum of five countries. It should however not a maximum of eight coupons exceed.

Discounts offered:
INF L 10% of an adult fare.
CHD: children pay adult fare.
Maximum / Minimum Stay:
Maximum 30 days from departure date of first leg and minimum 5 days from departure date of first leg.
Baggage Allowance:
The baggage allowance will be the same for the domestic legs covered by the South America Airpass as the international legs. In case of additional baggage or excess luggage, 1% of the “Y” fare for the leg will be charged for every extra kilo.
Validity:
Ticketing: from 1st January 2009 until 31st December 2009.
Travel: from 1st January 2009 until 10th June 2010.
Ticketing:
Full purchase if it is outside of South America only.
There will be only one Air pass issued per passenger in conjunction with the international ticket.
The Airpass ticket will be issued separately and it should include the international ticket number.
Taxes applicable are the Airport tax, security and other additional taxes will be charged while issuing the airpass.
