Brazilian Beaches

Brazil is a beautiful and vast country and has a lot to offer someone who is looking for a dream vacation.  One of the things that Brazil is best known for is its white sandy beaches.  Places like Ipanema and Copacabana have been immortalized in songs and in movies and for good reason.  Brazil has over 4500 miles of coastline, and much of it is graced by these amazing beaches.  If you want to have one of those postcard vacations, do a little research about them and you will enjoy your trip immensely.

There are beaches to suit everybody’s preferences.  If you want to go to a place that is bustling with activity and you want to do some socializing on the beach, a place like Copacabana is a good choice.  There is plenty to do and see, and you will rarely experience a dull moment.  If you want something that is a little more relaxed, you can find many resort beach towns where you can rent a place near to the beach and not have the kind of traffic you would find on the more famous beaches.  You can even find nude beaches if you are feeling daring.  Make sure you do your homework and find out what kind of beach you are going to before you get there.  You don’t want to arrive and be surprised, especially if you are bringing the kids.

There are some things that you can do to prepare and enjoy your beach vacation even more.  If you are fair-skinned, beware of sunburn.  The equatorial sun is warming and brilliant, but if you are not used to it you can find your vacation quickly ruined if you get burned by the sun.  Take it easy and don’t try to soak up too many rays all at once.  It might be a good idea to prepare if you can and get a bit of a base going.  Make sure that you use a strong sunscreen no matter what your skin type as everyone should use protection.  That is something that you might want to buy when you get there; if you have ever had a bottle of sunscreen explode in your luggage you will know what I mean.  If you go you will want a good pair of sunglasses, and you might not find exactly what you want when you get there so it might be best to do your shopping before you get there.  Also make sure you have a good bathing suit or two for the same reason.

There are many more things to do than just sit on the beach, as you can find activities like sand boarding, parasailing and jet skiing to keep you occupied.  If you do, make sure that you try to negotiate a good price, the price is often flexible in Brazil when you are paying cash for something and if you look like a foreigner or a tourist beware that you might be paying a premium.  Stay safe and try to find a beach with a lifeguard.  If you are not familiar with swimming in the Ocean the undercurrents can be surprisingly powerful and dangerous.  Obey the safety markings and swim with a buddy and you will enjoy an amazing beach vacation in this beautiful country.
